Blogger stopped shipping my posts to Tumblr so I figured I’d at least pop in and mention some updates, even though I am still technically on hiatus —I pop in now and again to see if there’s activity, and to see if anyone’s left any messages or whatever—.

Still unemployed, the agency I talked with last month told me that the company they thought I’d be good for didn’t want me, so it was back to square one, and there’s nothing else around.  This city is way too small and there is, literally, nothing here.

But I am in talks with a Spanish friend to see about maybe teaching English at a private school.  I’m still not a fan of the teaching thing (never have been, probably never will be; the idea of creating a lesson plan does not fill me with excitement, and depending on the age group, I’m not even a huge fan of kids, especially Spanish kids) but it’s about the only option I have right now to get abroad.  And I’d really like to not have to go through an agency based in the US.  They charge way too much money for their programs (and the scholarship period ends today I think for the one I applied for, so seriously, screw that) and I’d rather see if I can talk directly with a school, and to see if I could possibly stay there long term instead of the one-year programs that the agencies do.

At least the weather here is nice, even if we only just saw sun on Tuesday for the first time in weeks.
